App Store screenshot generator – iPhone, iPad, Google Play

Design store images right in the preview: device frames, headlines, elements – in all required sizes as a ZIP. Free, no sign-up.

With the free App Store screenshot generator you design store images right in the preview: choose a template, upload screenshots, type your texts. You get a ZIP with every required size for the App Store and Google Play – without alpha channel, and optionally with product page header, search result and in-app event images. Everything runs in your browser; your images never leave your device.

How it works

  1. Choose a template such as pizzeria, café or delivery. Every screen gets its own layout.
  2. Upload your app screenshots. Several at once fill the devices in order.
  3. Type the headlines right in the preview (double-click). Move, rotate and resize devices and elements as you like.
  4. Choose the formats: iPhone, iPad, Google Play, product page header, search result or in-app event.
  5. Check the traffic light and download everything as a ZIP – sorted by store and size.

Guide: store images that get approved

All sizes at a glance

These are the sizes the generator exports. Checked on 22 Oct 2026 with Apple and Google. All images are without alpha channel (PNG) or JPG.

What's not allowed in store images?

Apple and Google reject store images that advertise instead of showing the app. The rule checker in the tool marks such texts: red means very likely rejection, yellow is a note. Red doesn't block the download, but you have to confirm it consciously.

Keep out prices and discounts, web addresses, copyright symbols, rankings like “#1”, names of other platforms such as Uber Eats or Just Eat and Apple recognitions like “App of the Day”. Google Play is stricter: “free”, “new”, “best”, stars, ratings and calls to action like “Download now” aren't allowed there either.

Product page header, search result and in-app events

From iOS 27, Apple shows large images at the top of the product page and in search results. Without your own search image, Apple shows in-app events, videos or your first screenshots. Keep your subject in the centre: narrow devices crop the sides. The editor shows the safe area from Apple's templates.

In-app events are only worth it for time-limited occasions such as an opening or a seasonal menu. Apple adds a badge like “Special Event” – don't write it into the image yourself. Card and details page should look alike; the generator creates both in the same style.

How to record an app video

The generator doesn't create videos. To make an app video, record the screen right on your iPhone (Control Centre, Screen Recording) and edit it afterwards.

Header and search result: 5 to 30 seconds, 30 or 60 frames per second, as .mov, .m4v or .mp4, same aspect ratios as the images. They play muted on a loop; in search results the sound can't be turned on. In-app events: 15 to 30 seconds.

Frequently asked questions

Which sizes do I get?

iPhone 6.9" (1320 × 2868), 6.5" (1284 × 2778) and 6.1" (1206 × 2622), iPad 13" (2064 × 2752), Google Play 9:16 (1080 × 1920) and optionally product page header (3840 × 1646), search result (3840 × 2560) and in-app event images (3840 × 2160 and 2160 × 3840) – all without alpha channel.

Are my screenshots uploaded?

No. Everything is created in your browser; your images never leave your device. Your browser keeps the draft, and you can also save a project file.

Why PNG without alpha channel?

App Store Connect and Google Play reject images with transparency. Browsers normally always add an alpha channel – so the generator uses its own PNG encoder without alpha.

What must not appear on store screenshots?

No prices, discounts, web addresses, rankings like “#1”, names of other platforms and no Apple recognitions. On Google Play also no “free”, “new”, “best”, no stars and no calls to action like “Download now”. The rule checker marks such texts.

How much text does Google Play allow?

Text may cover roughly 20 % of the image at most. The tool measures the area per image: above 15 % yellow, above 20 % red.

Do I need every iPhone size?

The 6.1" size is required; Apple uses the others for larger devices. The generator derives 6.5" and 6.1" from your 6.9" design automatically, so you design only once.

Can I start without finished screenshots?

Yes. Until you upload your own screenshots, the preview shows grey placeholders with hints. As long as a placeholder is in the set, the download is blocked.
