What does a self-ordering kiosk cost for my business?

Accepted Answer

The price depends on form factor (counter, freestanding, wall-mounted), number of terminals and chosen modules (card reader, optional cash acceptance). We don't offer the kiosk as a list price — instead, after a free consultation we put together a specific quote. Payment can also be arranged in flexible instalments. In most fast food restaurants and bakeries a kiosk pays for itself within 6–12 months.

Which businesses benefit most from a self-ordering kiosk?

Accepted Answer

Particularly businesses with high order volume and short dwell times: fast food concepts, burger and pizza chains, bakeries with a lunch menu, cafes with takeaway, food courts, franchise systems, petrol station bistros, hotel lobbies. Rule of thumb: from 80–100 orders per day or regular peak times with queuing, the first kiosk pays for itself quickly.

How many kiosks do I need for my business?

Accepted Answer

Rule of thumb: one kiosk replaces roughly one till operator at peak times. For a fast food restaurant with 60–80 seats we recommend 2–3 terminals, for a bakery outlet with lunch trade 1–2 terminals, for a food court stand with pick-up 1 terminal per concept. The exact number is determined in consultation after reviewing your daily revenue distribution.

Which form factors are available?

Accepted Answer

Three main variants: counter (stand-up terminal for counter or bar, compact), freestanding (floor-standing column with large display, ideal for entrance area or centre island) and wall-mounted (space-saving, perfect for narrow sales areas like bakeries). All form factors come with a card reader, cash module optional.

Which payment methods does the terminal support?

Accepted Answer

Debit card (girocard), Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay are integrated as standard. All payment methods are automatically handled through Epit Pay. A cash module with change dispensing is optionally available — useful for businesses with a high cash proportion.

How does upselling at the kiosk work exactly?

For each item you can store matching recommendations in the backoffice — larger chips with the burger, a drink to go with it, a dessert at the end. The kiosk displays these suggestions automatically in the order flow. Industry average increases the basket by 20–30% — without staff having to actively sell. You retain full control over what's offered when.

Which languages does the kiosk menu support?

Currently we support German and English. Additional languages will be added in the coming releases. The guest selects their language at the start with a tap.

Is the kiosk connected to my POS system?

Accepted Answer

If you already use a Gastro Master POS system, the kiosk is immediately ready. Orders from the terminal land automatically in the cloud POS, on the kitchen monitor and on the pick-up screen — with order number, items, special requests and payment status. No separate setup, no third-party interface, no developers needed.

Question 9

What happens during an internet or power outage?

Accepted Answer

The terminal requires a stable internet connection. We therefore recommend a LAN cable connection to avoid short-term WiFi issues. An optional WiFi function is also possible. During a power outage, the display restarts automatically after recovery and reloads the last state from the cloud.
