What does the display system cost for my business?

Accepted Answer

The price depends on the form factor (counter, freestanding, outdoor) and the number of screens. We don't offer the display system as a list price — instead, after a free consultation we put together a specific quote. In many businesses the setup pays for itself within 3–6 months through time and labour savings.

Question 2

What's the difference between the pick-up screen and the kitchen monitor?

The kitchen monitor hangs in the kitchen or at the counter and shows the team all open orders with table number, items, special requests and time. The pick-up screen hangs in the guest area or at the collection counter and shows collection customers their order number and status — In Progress or Ready to Collect. Both screens can be used individually or in combination.

Which form factors are available?

Accepted Answer

Three: counter (to place on a counter or bar, slim and compact), freestanding (floor-standing display, ideal for collection areas and food courts) and outdoor (weatherproof, for drive-throughs, beer gardens or terraces). We'll advise you on the right model for your business.

Question 4

How are the screens connected to my POS system?

Accepted Answer

If you already use a Gastro Master POS system, the screens are immediately ready. Orders from POS, webshop, app, delivery service or QR code table system land automatically in real time on the kitchen monitor and pick-up screen. No separate setup, no third parties, no developers needed.

Question 5

How does time-based prioritisation work?

Accepted Answer

Every order receives a timestamp on arrival. On the kitchen monitor they appear sorted by age — oldest at the top. The longer an order stays open, the more strongly it's highlighted in colour (yellow, then red). The kitchen immediately sees which order is at risk and can intervene before a guest complains.

Which product categories are colour-coded?

The colours are freely configurable — typically one colour per station: hot kitchen, cold kitchen, pizza, drinks, desserts, sides. Each station sees at a glance what's queued for them and can mark their items as done directly — without the rest of the kitchen having to cross-check.

Which businesses benefit most from the display system?

Accepted Answer

Any business with high order volume or multiple kitchen stations: fast food restaurants, pizzerias, burger joints, delivery services, food courts, bakeries with a lunch menu, cafes with takeaway, drive-throughs. Particularly effective from 50 orders per day or when there are multiple order channels running in parallel.

Does the pick-up screen replace personal contact with the guest?

Accepted Answer

No — it takes the pressure off. Guests check the screen themselves to see whether their order is ready. Staff no longer need to call out or search and have time for consultation, new orders or packing. The personal handover remains — it just becomes more efficient.

Question 9

Can I add more screens later as my business grows?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can add more kitchen monitors or pick-up screens at any time — for example when you open a second location, add a drive-through or set up a new station in the kitchen. All screens are centrally configurable in the backoffice.

Question 10

What happens during an internet or power outage?

Accepted Answer

The screens have fail-safe protection. During a brief internet outage, the current order view continues, new orders are buffered in the POS and sync again as soon as the connection is restored. During a power outage, the display restarts automatically after recovery and reloads the last state from the POS.
